Defend your Right to Privacy

If you're using P2P software, you probably don't know that companies like BayTSP are logging  your every move. Your IP, and if you tried to download a "bait" file, probably much more. You have to take action NOW to protect your net ID. (Unless you're fine with snooping) Here is some reccomended software:

All-In-One Secretmaker - www.secretmaker.com - This program clears your tracks, exchanges personally identifiable information with "ghosts" has a secure password generator, spam filter, executable blocker, ad/banner/movie blocker. I use it for its primary feature though.

ProtoWall- bluetack.co.uk - They mantain and update a program that blocks IPs that
you wouldn't want anywhere near your computer. (RIAA, government, hijackers, spy/adware)

The Onion Router - tor.eff.org - The ULTIMATE privacy proxy. It tunnels requests through an encrypted tunnel to TOR servers (which are other users), to ultimately hide the person who made the request and the data being transferred. This can be used for both applications and browsing. WARNING: May cause your browser to become slow.

TrueCrypt - TrueCrypt.org - This program will create an encrypted drive to store all of your confidential information. You could even hide your stuff inside another file (File-Hosted container). It offers advanced security features like "keys" that link your drive to another file so if the other file is not present, the drive cannot be decrypted. Encryption/Decryption is done transparently and quickly.

AxCrypt - http://axcrypt.axantum.com/ - for when having an encrypted drive / admin priviledges is not an option.

Set up your own personal proxy for unrestricted access to the internet in restricted locations - http://www.buzzsurf.com/surfatwork/

Remember to always clear your cookies when exiting your browser!

Eraser - http://www.tolvanen.com/eraser/ - When you format your hard drive or delete a file, your files aren't really gone! Eraser will securely overwrite your files and make them impossible to recover.
